McCordsville is a small community lying inside the bounds of Vernon Township in Hancock County. Although McCordsville is only 1.4 square miles, there are 5,000 residents who call it home – making it the fastest growing area in Hancock County. The town was incorporated 26 years ago in 1988. The town is 10 minutes from major thoroughfares the I-69,  I-70, SR 234 and I-465.

The town is currently developing their local economy by licensing food trucks which will operate around the area. After careful consideration and several town meetings, McCordsville has annexed land in the southern part of town. These lands are primarily agricultural but the entire area will be rezoned. Farmers who own land in the area can maintain their status through a “grandfathered” zoning privilege.
