New Palestine is a small town in the township of Sugar Creek in Hancock County. The town is located 14.2 miles west of Indianapolis, Indiana and it will take travel time of 30 mins in order to get to New Palestine from the main city. New Palestine is bisected by highway I - 52 and is bordered by Sugar Creek on its eastern side. It has a total area of 1.10 square miles with a population of 2,055 residents.

The town may be small but it is rich with history. New Palestine started October 1, 1838 by Jonathan Evans. Evans allocated only thirty six lots laid out in 15 blocks. By May 22, 1871, city officials had New Palestine incorporated with a population number just a tenth of it has now.
